The Bee Story

Posted on Updated on

Everyone knows Bees. Bees are a type of insect which produce Honey. People fear Bees because of its sting. How did Bees get their sting? It happened a long while ago.

Once upon a time, there lived a Bee who used to work very hard. He and its family lived in happiness until humans came at that place. The humans took all the honey they had worked hard to gain. So the Bee which was the head of the family started praying to god. After worshipping for a long time God came in front of it and asked what it wanted.

The bee told to god, “Oh! Dear Lord, Me and my family work hard daily by going from flower to flower to collect honey. After doing this for a day we store it in our house the ‘Honey Comb’. Recently, humans have moved into our place and they have started to steal our honey and destroy our house. For their enjoyment we are working all day. So, I have come to ask you to help me and my family to save our honey”.

The God said, “Sure Bee, What do you want me to do?”

The Bee replied,” Give us something, something that will keep humans away from Bee family. Humans should be afraid of us. Give something like that to our family Oh God.”.

The God granted his wish by giving the whole of Bee family a ‘Sting’. Then the God told the Bee,” Dear Bee, I have granted you your wish. I have presented you with a ‘Sting’. Whenever humans come near you, you can push this ‘Sting’ on to their skin and it will kill them”.

The Bee was very happy hearing this. He thanked God and was about to leave when the God called him,” One more thing Dear Bee, As my promise I have given you a ‘Sting’ but remember when you use this sting on a human, with them you will also die. This sting contains your life from now”.

By saying this god left. Bee was in a trance. What had he done? He had not only put his life at stake but also all his fellow beings. He felt very bad and sad for what he had done. There was no way to take back what he had wished for.

He came home and told his family what had happened. They were all disappointed with him. At this time the Wise Bee of the family said,” Always Remember, if you wish bad for others, you will bring a curse upon yourself too”.

In this way, Bees got their sting. That’s why even today if a Bee stings us, it will also die. Therefore, you should never wish bad for other. You should always do well to others. Even if you can’t be good, you shouldn’t be bad.

Don’t Judge A Person

Posted on Updated on

One day Rangnath a businessman in India decided to go to New York as he had heard much about it. He wanted to see for himself if the beauty of city as described by others was true or not. Finally one day he had the opportunity to go and see the city of beauty. He was excited and tensed at the same time. He had never set foot in another city let alone another country. He wished the people there would be soft and polite.

He took a plane from India and landed in New York. He found the plane ride quite amusing as the air hostesses were good and he felt as if he was flying. He got down the plane and headed for the immigration customs in Kennedy airport. After an hour and half he stepped outside the airport and waited for a taxi. He was a very superstitious person and had believed that to get a good taxi driver you had to do well in all your previous lives. The queue in front of him started to grow small gradually and finally it was his turn to get the taxi. He started praying to all the gods to get a good taxi driver. Suddenly, there was a rash sound, he turned around to see a taxi zooming out from nowhere and coming to stop in front of him. The driver got out and asked Rangnath where he wanted to go. Rangnath was shocked by seeing the driver. He was huge. He was very tall and was very fat. He looked as if devil had come down from hell. Rangnath couldn’t get his lips to move to tell the driver that he wanted to go to Y.M.C.A. So he just turned around and tried to lift the bad and put it in the car. Rangnath, who wasn’t an athlete and didn’t have any superpowers couldn’t even move the bag as it was very heavy and partly because he was too scared to move. Then the driver came to him and asked him to move aside. As soon as Rangnath did as he said, the driver picked up the luggage as if it was a matchbox and kept it in the car and asked our person to get it. Rangnath did as he was told and then said that he wanted to go to Y.M.C.A. The driver smiled and said that he knew the place and would take him there right away. As soon as the driver got into the car and shut the door, the car started zooming out in a lightning speed. Rangnath was afraid by the speed of the vehicle and the speed at which the meter was moving. As fast as it all started it came to an end. The taxi stopped and the driver got up and took the luggage out. The meter was showing $30 but Rangnath had $100 bill with him and no change. So the driver took the $100 and went to the reception to get change. Rangnath went in with him and when he was talking to the receptionists he found that, that place wasn’t Y.M.C.A restroom. The driver had brought him to the working office of Y.M.C.A. Before Rangnath could say anything the driver dragged him back to his taxi, put his luggage back, switched the meter off and started zooming off the car. This time Rangnath was totally shocked because the driver had turned the meter off. The receptionist had mentioned that the Y.M.C.A restroom were 30kms away. He was afraid that the driver would take all his money. In no time they reached the restroom. The driver got out and held the door so that Rangnath may get down. Then the driver picked up Rangnath’s luggage and took it to the Y.M.C.A lounge. He kept it there and came back out. When Rangnath asked him how much it had cost, he simply showed the meter and said $30. Rangnath was confused and asked him why it was $30. He had travelled another 30kms after it. Then the driver replied that it was his fault that he didn’t ask where he wanted to go properly and therefore wouldn’t want to charge on it. Rangnath was totally awed by the driver’s reply. The man who looked like the Devil from hell now looked like an Angel to his eyes. He paid him with $35 and asked him to keep the change. But the driver refused and gave it back to Rangnath and said that he didn’t deserve tips. By saying this he got back into his car and sped away. Rangnath felt very sorry for doubting on such a man. He then learned that one should never judge a person by his outer beauty.

This story tells us how we shouldn’t go upon people’s beauty. Just like the driver in this story there are many persons in the world who may not be beautiful but the only beauty that matters is inner beauty. You should always see a person for who he is inside rather than judging him from his appearance outside.
