Month: January 2013
I was sitting on the side of a beach, watching the sunset, taking in the fresh air, enjoying the sounds of waves splashing around. Suddenly I was disrupted by a sudden moment in front of me, which blocked my view of the sun.
I got up, in order to see what it was, and found that it was a guy. Not just any guy, but a really handsome guy. A smile came to me without my knowledge. I shouted, “Oi, you are blocking my view”.
He turned around, smiled at me, apologized and moved away.
I lay down, happy that my view was clear, but my mind was disturbed with the questions ‘Who is he? What does he do? Where is he from? Can I go talk to him?’
I sighed and tried to hush the thoughts away, as I had come out here so that I can be in peace and not think about anything for a while.
But, it wasn’t written in my fate. The guy was now standing right in front of me, smiling. Even though I liked this view as well, I was irritated and my mind was thinking about hot annoying one can get. As if blocking my view was not enough, he was now right in front of me.
I sat up, and motioned him to sit. He sat down, still without a word. Silence continued as we both were very much intrigued by the nature’s beauty.
Soon, the sun went down and the moon came up, lighting up the beach with its surreal light. I smiled and I somehow knew that he was smiling too.
Few more minutes passed in silence, and finally he broke it by saying a faint Hello. I didn’t reply. I didn’t speak. I was still in trance with the beauty of the nature. It took me a few minutes to realize that he had spoken and was expecting a reply from me, I turned to look at him and saw that he was looking at me. I smiled and said, “Hey Stranger”.
He grinned, it looked cute on him, “Beautiful right?”, He asked looking at the sky. I nodded. I looked at him again, he was so handsome. I decided to check out his features. Even though he was sitting, he was tall, and had nice muscular body. He had a perfect face, edged in the right way, and those eyes, oh god! Those eyes. I could look in them and get lost forever. Such beauty they were. And those lips. I smiled, and then I noticed his stubble. I frowned a bit. Why ruin such perfect features with this? What a waste! I sighed and concentrated on the waves.
He started talking, and then even I talked. We talked a lot to be precise. He spoke about his interests and I spoke about mine. Then we spoke about anything and everything. There was nothing to stop us, we had all the time in this world, and we had so much to talk to. It felt good. We could bond, we could share.
I found a new friend in him. And so he did in me. It was jovial. The clock ticked and time went by very fast. Before we knew, the sun was coming back up again. We became quiet once the sun started rising. It was another beauty. We enjoyed it, the sun coming up, the birds chirping, the nature coming to life, and the time we had spent. But it was time to leave.
I got up, gave him a little hug. Kissed him on his cheeks and then frowned cause it hurt me. I guess he felt bad, but I wouldn’t worry about it now. I was happy. Way too happy.
I came back to our rooms, I saw my friends wide awake, I went to them and hugged them happily. When they all asked me what happened and where I had been, I spoke the words I had heard from some series a long time back,
I met a guy, we talked. It was epic. But then the sun came up, And the reality set in.
They laughed and just brushed it away, but I knew I wouldn’t. It was once in a lifetime experience. I didn’t know who he was, where he came from or what he did, but we had talked so much. I didn’t know his name neither did he know mine, but for whatever it was, it was worth it.
We were leaving that day. So I packed my bags, and got ready to leave. I took my bags out, dumped them in the cars, and looked around to take it all in for one last time.
I saw him there, waiting for me probably. I went to him. The first thing I saw was that he had shaved. Now he was looking perfect, like an Angel. Making me wonder even more if what happened last night was true. He hugged me and gave a peck on my cheek.
“Doesn’t hurt now does it?”, he asked. I shook my head and smiled. “Thank you, for everything”.
He just nodded. I gave him one last hug and went back. My friends were waiting for me. I turned around to see that he was still standing there. My friends were all giving me weird looks asking me who he was. I didn’t bother to reply, because I knew one thing now. Everything that happened was true. It wasn’t just a dream.
I smiled as I sat in the car. As we went, I shouted at him, “You look good when you shave”, and then I left.
